The news is out today: I am going to be writing and illustrating a new graphic novel to be published by Iron Circus Comics! Here’s the official blurb:
The irrepressible Yarrow McMurray is a woman on a mission: A mission to put bugs in your burgers. Worms in your stir-fry. Maggots in your… muesli?
Sure. Why not.
In short, Yarrow eats bugs. And cooks bugs! And loves bugs. Inspired and driven on her quest by short-tempered guiding force and employer Chanda Flores, she won’t rest until everybody else feels the same way, including her skeptical girlfriend Milani Spence.
Written in the spirit of classic food and cooking manga like Drops of God,Cooking Master Boy and Yakitate!! Japan, Blue Delliquanti, author of the critically acclaimed and Lambda Literary Award-nominated O Human Star, plans to bring Meal to ICC and adventurous readers in 2017!
Keep up with all future updates on this book at mealcomic.com! I can not wait to make headway on this.
Hello, Seattle! I’ll be returning to Emerald City this week from Thursday the 7th to Sunday the 10th and tabling at F5 with my pal Kiku Hughes (aka geniusbee!). Come get OHS Volume One, OHS magnets, and a few other goodies! See my brand new haircut!!!
Thanks to everyone who attended DINK this past weekend! O Human Star Volume One won two of the convention’s inaugural awards: Best Self-Published Work and the attendee-voted Best In Show. This is a huge honor and I’m still kind of reeling from it. Thank you for your votes and your support!
Cool news! This week, O Human Star Volume One was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award in the LGBT Graphic Novels category, and the Denver Independent Comic and Art Expo’s DINKy Awards in the Best Work – Self Published and Outstanding Work – Diversity categories. The winners will be announced for all three awards later this year – thanks for the nominations!
Exciting update on a project I’ve been working on this year! I’ve contributed a story to an upcoming anthology of sci fi based on real life technology!
The collection is called Future Visions: Original Science Fiction Stories Inspired by Microsoft, and it’ll be available on all major eBook platforms for free on November 17th. All of authors were given inside access to a Microsoft Research lab and the visits served as inspiration for each of our stories.
The collection features eight award-winning, acclaimed writers of science fiction, and also includes a short graphic novel, written by me and illustrated by Michele Rosenthal
. Each story also features an original illustration by Joey Camacho.
