January and February 2026 happenings
What a year, huh??? Stuff in Minneapolis is wild right now, and if you want to help and are not sure how, local food shelves are stepping up to distribute and deliver food. (I volunteer at Joyce, and they’re awesome, but there are plenty of orgs out there doing the work.)
But a new year means new event postings, so here’s what I’ve been doing or will be doing shortly.
First up, on January 18th, I’m returning to Odd Mart in uptown Minneapolis for Frozen Flop, an all-comics market from 12-4 pm. I’ll have copies of Across a Field of Starlight, Meal, Adversary, and a handful of O Human Star. Plus a special freebie for locals.
In February, I’m heading to San Francisco for Pride in Panels, a queer comics festival hosted at the SF Public Library on the 15th. Don’t miss the sci fi/fantasy panel I’m participating in at 3 pm! (And if you just happen to be a student at California College of the Arts, I’m running a character design workshop a few days beforehand, on the 13th.)
A little later on in the year, in May, I’m going to run another workshop with Soleil Ho at the Queer Food Conference in Montreal. The schedule’s just been posted for that as well.
Finally, I forgot to post the link to a virtual presentation about the history of webcomics I gave for SFWA (Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Association) Comics Committee’s monthly chat. This is an compressed version of a presentation I do most years at MCAD, because the history of online publishing is super interesting!
Hang in there, everyone.
